In the media in general, and in advertising in particular, women’s bodies are often objectified, photographed semi-naked, sometimes even pornographically – and are thus portrayed in a way which does not correspond to reality. On the other hand, there is the image of the perfect housewife. The fictitious perfect woman is shown to be attractive, naive, lascivious and obedient to her husband all at once. A beautiful housewife lovingly taking care of her children while meticulously folding perfectly white laundry.

Picking up on this ambivalence, the artist designed a series of seven dishtowels, which were embroidered in reference to famous print ads.
